South Dakota Cruise UPDATE, Less than TWO WEEKS away our Room block will be released so GET YOUR RESERVATIONS IN! JUST A HANDFUL OF ROOMS ARE LEFT!! Also the Hotel DROPPED the rate by $5 to $129/night you will get this if you already booked as well. Details on when we are leaving if you would like to cruise together will be posted next month, we currently plan on leaving early morning of the 15th and will be driving up HWY 85 through WY NOT I25!

21 years ago on August 10th, 11th, and 12th 2001 we held our FIRST Annual Cruise the Rockies and what a spectacular beginning it was! Yet, just one month later our country witnessed the worst terrorist attack on our soil in our history. Last year we held our 20th and Last Cruise the Rockies, and without all of your support over the two decades we never could have done this... YOU ALL helped us make this happen! As we have struggled as a nation and people over the past several years, with the pandemic, political differences, violence, inflation, and even war, we have always managed as a group to put aside our differences and come together to gather as friends and have fun! And that my friends IS the reason we are going to celebrate the 21st anniversary of 9/11 with a Memorial Cruise/ gathering in the Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Although this event is not technically ON 9/11, It will still be the Week of the Anniversary and we will still remember​​that day and certainly honor our fellow Americans and First Responders we lost, with a Memorial Cruise to Mount Rushmore.

Thank you all for your patience as I know many have asked when we will have this in place. Rather than staying in the largest city in South Dakota which is Rapid City we instead chose the laid back centrally located Hill City just 26 miles to the southwest. However, booking this block of rooms in this small resort area has not been an easy task as hotels are all CLOSED for the off season and all the hotels are SOLD OUT every day through the end of the season, that's just the way it is! The host hotel is the Best Western Golden Spike Inn and Suites, Room choices include mostly 2 queens , some Kings, a few suites, and IF you CALL and ask and reserve SOON you can get a Mobility Access room as well. Don't Forget to tell them you are with the PT CRUISER GROUP!! THE GUARANTEED RATE FOR THE GROUP IS $134/ night. Suite is $143. this is 10% off of the prevailing rate and also matches the AARP rate. We will have routes, as well as suggestions and times for optional cruises for people to choose to do as they like in groups or on your own! As you all know this is an unplanned Cruise event but I want to give you guys all some ideas of tentative stuff in case you get there early or are staying late and want to know what ELSE to do!!.... on Thursday when we arrive we will probably hang out to do something at the hotel or a park in town, maybe local cruises. Friday many of us would like to do the Needles Highway and Custer State Park or Crazy Horse for those interested before we go over to Mount Rushmore early evening. On Saturday consensus is we would like to cruise up to Deadwood and from there up through Spearfish Caynon to Spearfish and then some of us will cruise over to Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming which is another hour from Spearfish.
